Tripura Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha made a bold prediction regarding the outcome of the Lok Sabha Polls. While, The Union Home Minister on Tuesday said that NDA has already secured the requisite number of seats to secure a majority in the Parliament and will form the government again at the Centre.
Asish Saha claimed BJP’s dream would be dashed and predicted for a Congress led INDI alliance Government in the Centre. He further claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aspiration for a third term will remain unfulfilled. Instead, he foresees the Congress coalition government taking the reins from the BJP led NDA with a commanding 350 seats.
Saha made the remarks during an organizational meeting held at the residence of Congress leader Priya Lal Das in Madhupur Bazar of Kamalasagar Assembly in Tripura on Tuesday afternoon. Although, Lok Sabha Polls for both seats in Tripura were held in the first and the second phase, Tripura Pradesh Congress started its political activities aiming to revitalize the organization.
Today’s meeting was attended by key figures of the Congress party, including State Congress Secretary Jaydev Burman, OBC State Committee President Manoranjan Debnath, SC State Committee Chairman Niranjan Das, District Congress President Gopinath Saha, Kamalasagar Mahila Congress President Rakhi Chakraborty Dutta, and Kamalasagar Block Congress President Pradeep Chowdhury, among others.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the decisions made during the extended meeting of the Tripura Pradesh Congress on May 5. The party had resolved to hold organizational meetings across nine organizational districts under seven blocks statewide, involving all district leaders and state leaders, with the aim of strengthening the organization.
The main objective is to address the weaknesses of the Congress organization in various subdivisions or districts of the state, reorganize the structure, unify the party as a whole and bolster the morale of the party activists.
Speaking about the LS poll in the meeting, Saha reiterated his prediction that the Modi government will not return to power in Delhi, and instead, the Congress coalition government will secure 350 seats. He expressed confidence that the tide has turned in favor of the Congress across the country, a sentiment he believes is palpable even within the BJP government. He also humorously remarked that his dream of surpassing 400 would remain just a dream.
