After bagging the top award for cleanliness in the Small States category, Tripura has scripted success in Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) also.
According to a PIB release issued on Sunday (October 2) , Tripura has been awarded first prize in recognition of outstanding work under JJM for providing adequate and potable tap water supply on regular basis to rural households.
The first prize was awarded based on "Functionality Assessment -2022" in the category of Regularity among the States/UTs having less than 60 per cent households with tap water supply.
Reacting to the achievement, DWS Minister of Tripura Sushanta Chowdhury hailed the efforts of concern officials and staff of the department.
"Achievement of Collective Hard Work….. Miles to go ahead…. Congratulations to Team DWS @ Tripura !", Chowdhury wrote in a social media post.
Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted, "Happy to share that Tripura has received FIRST PRIZE in 'Jal Jeevan Awards 2022' in the category of 'Regularity among the states/UTs having less than 80% households with tap water supply' for providing adequate & portable tap water on a regular basis to rural households.
Kudos to the efforts of the concerned Ministry, Gov't officials of central and state and ground level workers who have made this possible. Under the able leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, GoT will continue to deliver Good Governence till the last man in the queue."
