Tripura set to offer rousing welcome to PM Modi

Tripura is set to offer a rousing welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will arrive in Agartala tomorrow (Tuesday, January 4). All the preparations including security arrangements have been put in place, said ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in Agartala on Monday.

 

Chowdhury said, The Prime Minister will inaugurate a new integrated terminal building at the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) airport as well as launch two schemes - Vidyajyoti Schools under Mission 100 and Mukhyamantri Gram Samriddhi Yojana – from a public rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.

 

MBB-Airport-Agartala-Tripura-PMTripura Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Minister for Civil Aviation- Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma and others will remain present in the inaugural ceremony.

 

New Integrated Terminal Building of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, built at a cost of about Rs 450 crore, is a state of art building spread over 30,000 square metres having modern facilities and supported by the latest IT network integrated system.

 

The new terminal building will be fully operated on solar power from April 2022 during day time. A 2-MW solar power plant is being installed here for this while a 250-KW energy plant is already functioning. The New Building is capable of handling 1200 international and domestic passengers at peak time. It will have 20 check-in counters and four passenger boarding bridges.

 

Vidyajyoti School Mission 100 is aimed at improving the quality of education in the state by transforming 100 existing High/Higher secondary schools to CBSE affiliated Vidyajyoti Schools from state’s fund of around Rs. 500 crore with state of art facilities and quality education.
 

Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana aims to achieve the benchmark standards for service delivery in core development sectors at the village level.

 

Addressing the media, Chowdhury said special trains have been arranged in consultation with the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) arranged for the people coming from South and North Tripura districts to Agartala.
