Speaking on the occasion, Justice Lodh hailed the initiative of the Akademy and said, “I will like to draw the attention of Lalit Kala Akademy authority to make arrangements for selling the sculptures created by the artists”.  Presently, all the sculptures created by the artists are properties of the Akademy and selling is not allowed.

The Exhibition was preceded by a National Wood Carving Camp in the same venue. The Wood Carving Camp was inaugurated by Youth Affairs Minister of State Tinku Roy in presence of Chairman of Lalit Kala Akademy V Nagdesh on March 15 last.

In camp, all the 51 artists started working on woods and craved out wonderful pieces of creation for the Exhibition.

Suman Majumder, in his welcome speech, informed the gathering that the Lalit Akademy authority has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for purchasing equipments for ‘graphics designers’. Earlier, such equipments were not available in the State and graphics designers in the State were facing troubles.
