Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar hails India's economic revival under PM Modi's leadership

Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, hailed the impressive revival of the Indian economy over the past nine years and attributed the achievement to the visionary leadership and proactive policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Speaking at a Vyapari Sammelan held in Ambassa in Tripura today on June 5, the Union MoS emphasized the significance of three key principles—Seva (service), Sushasan (good governance), and Garib Kalyan (welfare of the poor)—in defining the nine-year journey of the Narendra Modi-led government.

Chandrasekhar highlighted the challenging state of the economy when Prime Minister Modi assumed office in 2014. characterized by corruption, nepotism, and numerous scandals. 

"The Prime Minister faced the formidable task of not only reviving the economy but also restoring hope, pride, and trust among the citizens", he said and emphasized that over the course of nine years,  Prime Minister Modi successfully addressed these issues, cleaned up much of the mess, and propelled India to become the world's fifth-largest economy.

"What remained unachieved in 65 years, India has accomplished in just nine years under PM Modi's leadership. We are on the verge of emerging as the third largest economy globally, following the United States and China," declared the MoS.

Later in the day, Rajeev Chandrasekhar held a press conference alongside Lok Sabha MP Rebati Tripura, wherein he discussed the achievements of the Narendra Modi government during its nine-year tenure. 

Drawing a comparison between the previous UPA administration and Modi's governance, the MoS contended that PM Modi has transformed politics from corruption, scams, and misgovernance to a politics centred around "Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan" (service, good governance, and welfare of the poor).

As part of his three-day visit to Tripura, the Minister arrived in Agartala on Monday morning to review the skill development initiatives undertaken in the state. 

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chandrasekhar planted a sapling and called upon people to observe each day as World Environment Day.

Earlier in the day, he met with Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, District Magistrate of Dhalai, to assess the progress of self-help groups in the district. 

Discussions revolved around the challenges faced by these groups in terms of capacity building and market linkages. 

The Minister also deliberated on skilling initiatives aimed at generating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for local youth, while addressing the hurdles encountered in the process.

Furthermore, Rajeev Chandrasekhar engaged with local party leaders to address concerns specific to the state. 

The Minister is scheduled to visit Krishnapur and participate in an interaction with representatives of the Janajati Beneficiary Sanmelan, among other engagements.

This marks Rajeev Chandrasekhar's second official visit to Tripura since assuming office in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet. 

His previous visit took place in August 2022, during which he actively participated in a Tiranga rally.
