Visiting B'deshi journalists meet Tripura CM, urge Visa simplification

A group of journalists from Bangladesh currently on a visit to Tripura had a meeting with Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha as part of a courtesy call.

During their interaction, Chief Minister Dr. Saha took the opportunity to highlight a series of significant initiatives undertaken by his administration to foster the development of the state.

Among these initiatives, he emphasized the transformative impact of the HIRA model, a visionary concept initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This model has played a pivotal role in bolstering Tripura's connectivity and overall progress.

In addition to shedding light on the improvements in connectivity, Chief Minister Dr. Saha also shared insights into his government's steadfast commitment to tackling drug-related issues within Tripura.

He emphasized the determination to establish a drug-free state, signaling the government's proactive stance on this critical issue.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Dr. Saha expressed his eagerness to meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, with the aim of strengthening ties and fostering cooperation between the two neighboring nations.

As part of their visit, the Bangladeshi delegation paid a visit to the Bharat-Bangladesh Maitri Udyan at Chottakhola in South Tripura.

During this visit, they expressed their gratitude to the state government for this initiative, which focuses on preserving the memories of the 1971 Liberation War.

It is worth noting that the people of Tripura played a pivotal role during the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

During the productive interaction, the Bangladeshi delegates proposed the simplification of the visa process to facilitate smoother cross-border travel, a suggestion that received a positive response from Chief Minister Dr. Saha.

In response, Dr. Saha assured the delegation that he would raise this matter with the central government, demonstrating his commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and ease of travel between the two nations.
