All the persons with disabilities will get a unique identity card within one and half year. Addressing Regional Editors Conference in Jaipur today, the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot said this identity card will be valid throughout the country and will help the disabled to get benefit of the welfare schemes. The Minister said that to frame laws for transgenders, a bill is likely to be introduced in the budget session of parliament. When asked about Rohit Vemulla case, Mr. Gehlot said that this issue should not be politicized. He assured the victim’s family will get full justice and culprits will be punished. Mr. Gehlot said that the word ‘Divyang’ suggested by the Prime Minister will be tried to replaced with ‘Viklang’. He informed the Editors that and Ambedkar International Study Center will be established to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Minister for Social Justice said that 5 National Sports Centers will be opened to promote disabled.
