Agartala, Mar 20, 2019: Launching a scathing attack on both Congress and CPI-M, chief Minister – also the State BJP president – Biplab Kumar Deb urged party leaders and workers to work hard for ensuring Modi’s victory in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Chief Minister trained his guns on Congress and CPI-M and asked, “Where were Soniaji, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh when people of Tripura were suffering under CPI-M rule”. During Left regime, top Congress leaders would plan to campaign in Tripura – however, at the last moment, they would cancel the trips. “But why did they cancel their trips?”, he thundered and added, Congress did not have the courage to face the CPI-M’s terror.
“With the blessings of Tripureswari Maa combined with valor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, it was possible to free people of the State from the maladministration of CPI-M. While August 15, 1947 is our Independence Day, March 3, 2018 is the ‘Day of getting rid of misrule of CPI-M’, Deb commented. Maintaining ante against CPI-M, he alleged, people had to get CPI-M leaders’ nod in availing Government welfare programmes during Left era – however, now welfare schemes are reaching to doorsteps of genuine beneficiaries normally and no one needs to go to BJP leaders to get benefits.
In an attempt to rejuvenate the organization prior to Lok Sabha polls, BJP today held Organizational meetings across the State and Biplab Kumar Deb addressed four organizational meetings. In his speech, Biplab Kumar Deb highlighted achievements of the Modi-Government and mentioned about several welfare schemes including Ujjala Yojna, Soubhagya Yojna, Atal Jal Dhara Mission, Ayushman Bharat etc. He also talked about Modi Government’s initiatives for welfare of farmers. He cautioned, “Modi Government’s victory in ensuing Lok Sabha polls is necessary for safeguarding interests of common people”.
