President of India, Ramnath Kovind today in a national ceremony of Swacch Sarvekshan Award- 2019 inaugurated at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi. Two Urban Local Bodies of Tripura namely Sonamura Nagar Panchayat and Udaipur Municipal Council got Swachh City Award. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Govt of India conducted biggest survey in the world ever done in which more than 4500 cities across country which enrolled online on Swachh Sarvekshan Portal of MoHUA, GoI.
Sonamura Nagar Panchayat received Swachh City Award for being the fastest moving city in North East and Udaipur Municipal Council got Swachh City Award for being the best city in innovation and best practices in North East Zone.
On behalf of Goverment of Tripura Dr GSG Ayyangar, Chief Residence Commissioner Tripura Bhawan and Dr Milind Ramteke Director Urban Development Department received award.
