May 25, 2018: Amidst thriving consumerism and growing socio-economic tension, Jana Unnayan Samiti Tripura (JUST) organized a unique State level Networking meeting for fostering peace at Durjoynagar in Agartala today. Members of NGOs, CBOs, FBOs and opinion leaders participated in the meeting and shared their views for peace building in Tripura. Fr. Jeevan Kennady, Director of JUST delivered welcome address in the meeting. The State level networking meeting was inaugurated by Most Rev. Lumen Monteiro Bishop of Agartala, chairman of JUST and Caritas India.
Members of 14 NGOs took part in the meeting. They presented and introduced about their organization and activities during the meeting. There were three external observers for the meeting, who gave back the feedback after the presentation. The three external observers were Jaydip Chakrabarti, Junior Editor of Tripura Times, Prof. Dr. Sr. Marina B.S Holy Cross College Agartala and Prof. Vincent from Loyola College Chennai. All the participating NGOs have decided to extend networking with more NGOs under forming a body to be effective agents in Tripura for peace building.
