MP Biplab Kumar Deb Steps In After Tripura Woman Injured in Andaman
Agartala Jan 4: A woman from Tripura who suffered injuries while travelling in the Andaman Islands is receiving advanced medical care following the intervention of Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb.
Maitri Chakraborty, a resident of Agartala Renters’ Colony and an Assistant Professor at TMC, met with an accident during a family trip to the Andamans and sustained a head injury. At the time of the incident, MP Biplab Kumar Deb was also in the Andaman Islands on an official programme as part of a parliamentary delegation of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
After a family acquaintance reached out to Deb through social media seeking assistance, the MP’s office promptly contacted the family and initiated necessary steps. Biplab Kumar Deb later personally visited G.B. Pant Hospital, where Chakraborty is undergoing treatment, to enquire about her health condition.

During the hospital visit, the MP interacted with the attending doctors and family members to assess her medical status and discuss the course of further treatment. He also ensured arrangements for advanced medical care in view of her condition.
According to sources, Maitri Chakraborty’s health condition has shown improvement, and she is expected to be shifted to another medical facility for advanced treatment on Tuesday.
Family members expressed gratitude for the timely intervention and support extended by the MP, which they said helped ensure proper medical attention during a critical time.
