Agartala Aug 22: In a landmark event, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha launched the ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ vision document at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala today, outlining an ambitious roadmap to transform Tripura into a developed and exemplary state by 2047, coinciding with India’s centenary of independence.

The unveiling ceremony, marked by the screening of a documentary on the initiative, underscored the state’s alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ program, which aims to elevate India into a developed nation through economic growth, citizen empowerment, and sustainable living.

Chief Minister Dr Saha emphasized that Tripura is leading the Northeast as the first state to craft a comprehensive document under the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ framework. He highlighted the state’s commitment to fostering a prosperous, secure, and healthy future for its citizens while maintaining harmony with the environment.
“Our goal is to build a Tripura where every citizen thrives in a sustainable and inclusive ecosystem,” Dr Saha said. He stressed the need for collective efforts from political leaders, citizens, and administrative officials to achieve this vision.

The Chief Minister said, the state has made significant strides in key areas such as farmer welfare, healthcare advancements, digital governance, and industrial growth. Tripura’s strategic role in India’s Act East Policy was also highlighted, with Dr Manik Saha noting its contributions to fostering economic ties, cultural exchanges, and strategic partnerships with Asia-Pacific nations.
The state government remains dedicated to uplifting farmers, women, youth, and marginalized communities, in line with PM Modi’s developmental priorities.
Notable achievements include the sustainable utilization of Tripura’s natural resources, such as bamboo and rubber, which have spurred industrial growth and created livelihoods for thousands.
Rural electrification, solar energy projects, and access to clean drinking water have significantly enhanced living standards across the state.
The Ayushman Bharat scheme has provided health coverage to over 4.26 lakh beneficiaries, with more than 8,000 patients accessing cashless medical treatment. Additionally,
Tripura has set a national benchmark by implementing the e-Office platform down to the panchayat level, enhancing administrative transparency and efficiency.
The state’s progressive policies, including the Tripura IT Startup Scheme 2019, Tripura Data Centre Policy 2021, and Tripura Agarwood Policy 2021, have attracted substantial private investments, further accelerating industrial and economic growth. The creation of a Unified Farmer Database, integrating land records and real-time crop surveys, is another step toward modernizing agriculture and ensuring data-driven governance.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, speaking at the event, described the vision document as a strategic blueprint to eradicate poverty, enhance healthcare, promote higher education, and ensure essential civic services.

Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha highlighted Tripura’s impressive economic growth, which has outpaced several larger states in recent years. The event was attended by cabinet members, senior officials, and key stakeholders, including NITI Aayog Program Director Rajeev Kumar Sen and Planning Department Secretary L.T. Darlong.
