Agartala, July 25, 2019: State gets a power boost as Union Minister of Power R. K. Sing has finally agreed with TSECL’s proposal for setting up of 400-KV power substation at Surajmaninagar along with link lines.
It was made possible only due to personal follow up and strong determination of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, CMD, said TSECL- M.S. Kele in an official statement.
According to the CMD, TSECL, the Union Power minister approved the proposal in a meeting yesterday and the proposal for technical feasibility clearance would be sent by the MoP to MoDONER.
Kele along with the Secretary to Union Power Ministry and Chairman, Central Electricity Authority were also present in the meeting.
The CMD, TSECL said that he also held discussion with the Chairman, Central Electricity Authority about slow progress of PGCIL World Bank project and state’s proposals for transit camps. The Chairman, CEA also agreed to make some changes in the places of transit camps, Kele added.
According to Kele, some other issues which were rejected in the meeting held at Guwahati (attended by the Director, Technical) were also under consideration of the authorities concerned.
Meanwhile, the National Smart Grid Mission is also considering TSECL’s proposal for Smart Meter project for Agartala City, he added.
