ProMASS: Nov 29, 2016: Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the single largest party winning 851 seats in the Maharashtra municipal council polls conducted in 164 civic bodies which includes 147 municipal councils and 17 nagar panchayats. Results for 3510 out of total 3733 seats of councillors and municipal council presidents have been declared so far.
Shiv Sena stood fourth in the tally winning 514 seats, behind Congress who won 643 seats and Nationalist Congress Party, NCP won 638 seats. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, MNS logged victory at 16 seats, CPM won 12 seats, BSP 9 seats and others won 708 seats.
