Eminent Gynecologist passes away

After a brief illness Senior Gynecologist of Gomati District Hospital, Dr. Narayan Das died at G.B. Hospital on Tuesday. 

He was brought to ILS Hospital for conducting an endoscopy on Monday.  After completion of the endoscopy, he came back to his own house at Udaipur in Tripura on Monday. But his physical condition deteriorated at night yesterday. Immediately he was taken to Gomati District Hospital from where he was referred to Agartala for better treatment. After arriving at Agartala he was taken to ILS Hospital.

His family sources said that the ILS Hospital authority suggested admitting him to G.B. Hospital as there was a lack of beds at ILS. 

Later Dr. Das died at G.B. His body was taken to Gomati District Hospital today where his colleague doctors and nurses broke into tears. Later his body was taken to his house.  Dr. Das was a lifetime member of the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura.

Meanwhile, different organizations expressed deep mourning for his sudden death and expressed the sympathy of members of the bereaved family.  

 

Ganja worth Rs 20L seized

Police along with TSR personnel recovered 242 kg dry ganja worth Rs 20 lakh from a house at a Jhum Tila in North Kalamchaura PS after a two-hour-long operation on Tuesday.

The ganja was kept underground stored in seven drums.

The house belongs to one Dewan Mian.  However, he managed to give the Police a slip. Police have started an investigation into a case against him under the NDPS Act.

 

Miscreants destroy vegetable land

Miscreants destroyed the vegetable saplings of two farmers at Maizbhandar village of East Kalyanpur Gram Panchayat in Kalyanpur Thana area last night.

Parimal Pal and Jiban Giri, are the victims. Brinjal and green chilly cultivation spread in 2-acre farmland were destroyed. The farmers alleged that the saplings were planted on Monday afternoon and when they went to irrigate the field today morning, they found that the croplands were destroyed.

Pal and Giri also alleged they had faced similar incidents on earlier occasions and unfortunately, it is still continuing.
