The state government has decided to give posting to 685 TET-qualified teachers. Fulfilling the pre-poll promise made in the vision document, the BJP-IPFT government has decided to provide smartphones to more 15000 students. Education minister Ratanlal Nath said this at a press conference on Wednesday,
“Total 685 TET-qualified teachers—487 Graduate and 198 Undergraduate—will get postings soon. They will join the service once the summer vacation gets over,” Nath told the media.
He said, “137 teachers among the Graduate teachers and 92 teachers of the Undergraduate teachers have been given postings in different schools under the twelve aspirational blocks. The remaining teachers have been given postings in other parts of the state.”
“There are more 543 candidates, who have cleared TET by availing one-time relaxation. Their appointment will be given as trainee teachers. In that case, the state government has sent a proposal to NCTE for permission. They will be given posting around the schools of four DIETs so that they can continue the course and the job together. They will get posting once the permission is granted,” Nath said, adding that there would be no problems for the TET qualifiers who already completed B.Ed or B.El.Ed.
In another important decision, the council of ministers has approved the recruitment of 22 regular Assistant Professors for Kokborok in 22 Government Degree Colleges across the state.
In this context, Nath said the recruitment would be done through Tripura Public Service Commission. He also said that the state government had also issued an advertisement for the recruitment of more 40 assistant professors for various subjects.
Under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogajug Yojana, 15000 final-year students of 40 educational institutions including 22 government Degree Colleges, Tripura University and Maharaja Bir Bikram University would get Rs. 5000 each for buying smartphones in the current financial year 2021-22, said Education minister Ratanlal Nath.
Nath said, “the state government introduced the scheme last year and 7,274 students have received the benefit at a total cost of Rs. 3.67 crore. This year, the budget allocation for providing smartphones (Rs. 5000) to 15000 final-year students of 40 educational institutions has increased to Rs. 7.50 crore.”
The Minister said, the state government last year provided the benefit to 1756 students of West Tripura, 1194 students of South Tripura, 520 students of Dhalai district, 994 students of Gomati district, 596 of Khowai, 776 of North Tripura, 799 of Sepahijala and 651 students of Unakoti district.
The Education minister claimed that the Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogajug Yojana gained huge popularity among the students following which the state government increased the budget allocation this year.
