Construction works of the Light House Project in Agartala are going on in full swing and it is anticipated that the project would be completed with June 2022. Secretary, Urban Development Department Kiran Gitte, IAS along with Chief Planner, TUDA and other officials visited the Light House Project site at Golchakkar, Akhaura Road to review the progress at the site itself on Thursday.

 

Light House Project Agartala is one of the six such projects under Global Housing Technology challenge – India (GHTC-India) initiative taken by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister of India on January 1, 2021. There will be seven nos. Blocks in Agartala project which will contain a total of 1000 nos. flats.

 

Already advertisement was published from TUDA inviting application from eligible EWS and LIG families and in response around 315 applications are received so far.

 

Mitsumi Housing Pvt. Ltd, Ahmedabad is engaged for construction of the project by the Ministry of Housing 86 Urban Affairs, Government of India. The construction agency has started work in March, 2021.

 

During the visit, officials observed that out of seven nos. Blocks, pile foundation work for 3 Nos of Blocks had started. In Block-F, 145 piles were already completed out of 289 piles, in Block-G, 51 nos. piles were completed and also in Block-D, 8 piles were completed. These three blocks have 445 nos. flats.

 

In next 2 months, the foundation work of two blocks, namely Block-F & G and the pile work for the block-D will be completed.

 

Thereafter, pile foundation of other Blocks will be started. At present one Ready Mix Concrete plant, two mobile concrete machine, three transit mixers, two concrete pumps, three excavators, two pile boring machines, Cranes with other accessories are available at the work site and these are used for construction purpose.
