Twin unnatural death cast gloom in Gandachhera

In two separate incidents, a 26-year old woman and a 25-year old youth met unnatural deaths in Gandachhera area in Tripura during the last 24 hours.

Body of one woman recovered from the jungle at Laipada Para of Laxmicherra ADC village under Gandachhera on Sunday night. She went to collect wild potatoes yesterday. Sources said that family members found Satyarani Chakma (26) in senseless condition near a pit of wild potato in a jungle last night. Immediately the family members took her to Gandacherra Subdivision Hospital and the doctors declared her dead. The doctors suspected that she might have eaten something poisonous which caused her death. However, doctor said that the reason behind the death would become clear after getting post mortem report.  Meanwhile, police from Gandacherra Police Station started an investigation.

In another incidence, Mahitosh Choudhury of Duryodhan Para at Pancharatan ADC Village under Gandachhera sub-division on Monday morning after falling down from a tree. He received serious injuries and was taken to Gandachhera Sub-divisional Hospital. Doctors announced him brought dead.

 

Thieves make huge heist

Thieves made a huge heist at Chittamara under Belonia in Tripura on Sunday late night. None of the family members could sense the burglary till housewife Tania Sen woke up at midnight. She first tried to wake up her husband who did not respond – so she went to call up her mother-in-law. As Tania Sen switched on the lights, she found the main door of the house open and the rooms looked like being ransacked. Soon she found that her jewelry, money and furniture were missing.

“I realized that thieves managed to enter our house on Sunday midnight and fled away with jewelry, money gained from a car sale and valuable furniture”, Sen said.

Belonia Police started an investigation.

 

Gram Pradhan attacked

A Gram Pradhan of Kalyanpur Kunjaban area was assaulted and injured by two miscreants on Sunday late night. Police arrested both the miscreants – one of them is undergoing treatment.

Jhantu Pal, Gram Pradhan of Kunjaban GP under Kalyanpur PS was attacked by two miscreants identified as Subir Sutradhar and Sujit Debnath while Pal was returning home after buying some medicines from Kalyanpur Market area.

He was attacked near his residence in Kunjaban area. As he raised an alarm, villagers gathered at the spot. While a group of villagers took blood soaked Jhantu Pal to Kalyanpur Hospital, another group chased the miscreants. Local people caught one of the miscreants, Sujit Debnath while unable to flee, Subir Sutradhar climbed up a tower. However, he slipped and fell from the tower and sustained injuries. Meanwhile Kalyanpur Police reached the spot and arrested the miscreants. While Sutradhar is undergoing treatment at Kalyanpur Hospital, Police will produce Debnath before the Court on Monday.
