Apart from public health, the state government is also focusing on employment generation even amid Covid pandemic, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Deb was addressing a programme in Khowai on Friday. He first laid a foundation stone for the new building of Chebri PHC and then inaugurated the new building of Tulashikar PHC.
In the programme, four persons who donated the land for Chebri PHC were honoured by the Chief Minister.
The government’s priority areas are healthcare, education, electricity, drinking water and infrastructure development, he said.
Safety comes first, Deb said while encouraging the people to take vaccines generously.
He noted that the vaccination rate in Tulashikar area was not as per the expectation.
A section of people, who had tried to spread rumour about the vaccination, were now taking the vaccine before others, Dev pointed out.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister spoke on various welfare schemes being implemented by the State and Central Government.
He highlighted the achievements under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a goal to ensure pucca house to all by 2022. As part of the initiative Tripura is going to have more 1.80 lakh houses under PMAY”, Deb said according to a government press release.
Tribal welfare minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia was also present at the programme in Tulashikar. He said, various welfare works were being implemented in the state even amid Covid pandemic.
He also stressed on the importance of taking Covid vaccine to stay safe. He urged those, who didn’t take vaccine so far, to get immunized soon.
Principal Secretary to Health J.K. Sinha, NHM Tripura Mission Director Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal, Director of Family Welfare Dr. Radha Debbarma among others were present.
As part of his visit to Khowai, the Chief Minister visited Chrli Company camp of 10th-Bn TSR at Kalabagan.
He interacted with the jawans as well as inspected the existing facilities in the camp.
Deb said the TSR personnel posted in New Delhi were making Tripura proud.
