On the fourth day of her ‘Jan Ashivad Yatra’ Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik visited sub-divisions under Sepahijala district on Thursday.

 

Elaborate arrangements were made to greet her during the Jan Ashirvad Yatra. Felicitation programmes for Bhowmik were held at various places under Sonamura, Bishramganj and Bishalgarh sub-divisions.  

 

During the Yatra, Bhowmik also visited her native village, South Paharpur under Sonamura sub-division. Locals received her village with a rousing welcome. Later, amidst a large cheering crowd, she was felicitated at a programme held in Sonamura town hall. She bowed down to knees and touched the ground with her forehead – in a gesture to seek blessings of people. She also visited other areas under the sub-division.

 

Speaking on the occasion, she asserted that plans have been taken to beautify the Sonamura town. She also said, two Madrassas of the sub-division will be upgraded into English medium institutions.

 

As part of her Jan Ashirvad Yatra, the Union Minister also visited Charilam, Bishalgarh, Kamalasagar and other areas today.

 

A programme was held by Charilam Mandal committee to felicitate Pratima Bhowmik at the party office. Yuva Morcha activists escorted her in bikes from Bishramganj rail bridge area to Charilam Party office. Hundreds of men and women greeted her at Charilam. In the felicitation, among others, BJP state general secretary Kishore Barman and president of Yuva Morcha Nabadal Banik were present.

 

Later, Bhowmik attended the Jan Ashirvad Yatra at Bishalgarh in presence of local leaders and a large number of people.  Bishalgarh Press club also felicitated Bhowmik along with the BJP and organizations.

 

Pratima Bhowmik continued her Yatra and reached Kamalasagar. Kamalasagar Yuva Morcha Mandal organized a rally with the Minister. Local people greeted her with ululation, blowing conches and showering flower petals on Bhowmik. She offered puja at Kasba Kali Temple.
