Normal classes in Colleges and other such institutions will resume from August 25 next. Also, the hostels of the institutions will also open on September 1 next. In both the cases, concerned principals and in-charge principals of the institutions will have to ensure adherence to Covid19 protocols.
Physical classes will resume in Colleges as well as in other technical and vocational higher education institutions from August 25 next. These institutions will resume normal functioning adhering to Covid restrictions. The decision to resume the normal functioning of Colleges and other institutions was taken after obtaining permission from the State Disaster Management Authority. In a notification, the Higher Education Department announced the decision.
In the notification, it was also mentioned that hostels of colleges shall be opened from September 1 in compliance with Covid restrictions and guidelines.
In this case, all the restrictions issued by the government relating to the Covid pandemic must be followed by the concerned authority. The Principals and in-charge principals must ensure complete sanitization of the institutions. Class routines in the institutions must be prepared in accordance with the pandemic-related restrictions and guidelines.
Apart from the existing restrictions, the institutions will have to follow the restrictions and guidelines issued by UGC, AICTE, BCI, State and Central governments from time to time.
The sitting arrangement of Students must be done in conformity with the government guidelines pertaining to the social distancing norms.
The notification also mentioned that in case of non-availability of adequate space and dearth of adequate number of teaching staff, alternate days or different time schedules for students’ attendance should be arranged.
On all the government working days, all the teaching and non-teaching staff shall remain present in the institutions.
The notification mentioned, the in-charge persons of the institutions must submit the proposals in connection with the resumption of the normal functioning of the institutes to the Director of the Higher Education department within Monday (August 23).
