Tripura Pradesh Congress president Birajit Sinha has sent a signal to the former Congress as he said, “All are welcome”.

His statement came up close on heels of speculation that dissident BJP MLAs – Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Saha – are likely to return to their old party, Congress.

Even as Sinha remained evasive when asked about Roy Barman and Saha’s joining the Congress party, he maintained that Party is ready to welcome the deserters.

Birjit-Sinha-Cong-president-TripuraAddressing the media at Ambassa in Dhalai district, Sinha said most of the leaders and workers of the ruling party were Congress activists before the 2018 Assembly election. Many of them have realized that State needs Congress for the development as no other party can accomplish it.

When asked about his stand on Sudip Roy Barman and other ‘rebel’ BJP leaders, Sinha commented, it is not necessary to mention any name – old timers who want to rejoin the Party are all welcome.

He mentioned there is a trend among the former Congress men of returning to party.

Sinha asserted, “A big Dhamaka will take place before the upcoming Assembly polls and ruling party will not be able to retain power – this is clear and obvious”.

Sinha inaugurated a Training Camp of Congress workers at the party office in Ambassa on Sunday.  He inaugurated the two days training camp for Congress workers by hoisting the party flag.

On the training camp, he said, the purpose is to assemble and  engage the ground level Congress workers aiming at election 2023.  District president of Congress Kripesh Roy and others were present in the meeting.

Congress is conducting Training camps in districts in the State. The initiative is considered as an attempt to revitalize the Party organization which has become almost extinct in the State after series of humiliating poll drubbings.
