At last, Trinamool Congress leaders have come up with a date to announce its full-fledged committees from block levels to State Committee.

Addressing a press conference from its Camp Office in Agartala, party’s state convenor Subal Bhowmik said on Monday, the party will announce committees up to State level on February 10 next.

Tripura-Pradesh-TMC-State-CommitteeIf grapevines are to be believed, Subal Bhowmik is likely to be the President of the Party in Tripura.

“There are no other face on which Trinamool Congress can focus. Unlike other States, no prominent Congress leader of the State is showing interests in joining the party. For a long time, it was assumed that dissident BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman and his followers would join Trinamool Congress. Even as position of Roy Barman is yet to become clear, it seems there is almost no possibility of Roy Barman joining Trinamool Congress.

Since the August last, Bengal based Trinamool Leaders including party’s general secretary Abhishek Banerjee made several sorties down to Tripura – however, Trinamool failed to make any significant mark on recently held Urban Local Body polls.

He said, the central leadership of the party is in constant touch with the state leadership and they are expected to visit the state. He reiterated that Central leadership is very much serious about the interests of Tripura.

When asked about Trinamool Congress party’s stand on Sudip Roy Barman, Bhowmik said the party is ready to welcome anyone from any other party but it would be unconditional joining.

“If anyone supports us, why should not we accept that – however, the support must be unconditional”, Bhowmik said.

On another note, Bhowmik trained his guns at the ruling State Government on multiple issues and announced a mass-deputation programme on February 9 next. Bhowmik said, the mass deputation programme would be held in all 58 Blocks protesting against several issues including ‘corruption’ in various government departments like the Power department.

“Serious allegations of corruption against TSECL MD, MS Kele surfaced and he had to face fury of the agitating contractors. There is an allegation of corruption in the power department worth Rs 200 crore. We want a Judicial probe into the allegation and this demand is one of the issues on which party activists would submit mass deputation”, Bhowmik said.
