Ruling BJP in Tripura received a major boost at Gandachhera – a Janajati people dominated area – on Saturday (October 22).

In a joining programme held at Gandachhera Bazar today, over 1500 voters formally joined the saffron brigade today in presence of MP Rebati Tripura, State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other leaders. The programme was organized under the initiative of Raima Valley Mandal of BJP.

Today’s joining is a crucial as only a few days ago, Dhananjoy Tripura joined Tipra Motha after resigning from MLAship and the coalition partner, IPFT. He was elected from Raima Valley constituency under Gandachhera sub-division.

In his speech, Rajib Bhattacharjee referred to the resignation of Dhananjoy Tripura and said, resignation of one IPFT MLA would not be big issue as over 1500 people grabbed the saffron flags and joined BJP.

He was exalted at the ‘massive’ gathering and thanked people who came from different remote hamlets to attend today’s joining programme braving the scorching heat.

Addressing the gathering, Rebati Tripura said people are realizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants the overall development of people of all sections of society. The government is working towards that goal. That is why, many activists left different political parties and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, the MP said.

Rebati Tripura highlighted several initiatives and projects of the State and Central governments. He also mentioned upcoming projects in the Gandachhera sub-division for the betterment of society.

Rebati Tripura talked about the Prime Minister’s initiative to provide free ration to people including Janajati people of the State. In this connection, he also suggested Tipra Motha to provide free ration to Janajati people, at least, for two months to claim that they have done something for people living TTAADC areas.
