Janasuraksha Insurance Campaign in Tripura: Over 450 applications submitted in Laljuri Block
Dharmanagar Aug 28: Laljuri in North Tripura scripted a new chapter in in social security today.
With the slogan “Ekatre Cholo, Swabalambi Hoi, Gori Notun Samaj”* (Let’s move together, become self-reliant, and build a new society), a special Janasuraksha Insurance Campaign, jointly organized by the Laljuri TRLM Block Team and Laljuri Block Mission Management Unit, achieved unprecedented success.
This program has proven that members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) are the true pillars of rural development.
Community Service Providers (CSPs) and members of Pragati CLF and Unnati CLF, through their relentless efforts, tireless hard work, and strong determination, accomplished remarkable work at the grassroots level.
As a result of their unwavering commitment, a total of 301 Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and 144 Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) applications, complete with documentation, were successfully collected.
Today, at a ceremony held in the Laljuri Block Conference Hall, these applications were formally handed over to Lead District Manager (LDM) Prasun Kanti Das.
The event was attended by Laljuri Block’s BDO Mayukh Datta Majumdar, special guest Aman Poddar, an RBI official from Agartala, and TRLM block staff including Roni Sutradhar (BMC), accountant Rajib Sinha, LC Sushmita Das, and office assistant Hrishikesh Das. Additionally, members of the Governing Body and Executive Committee of Pragati and Unnati CLFs, along with all active CSPs, contributed to the success of the event.
After receiving the applications, LDM Prasun Kanti Das expressed heartfelt gratitude to all CSPs, CLF members, and TRLM organizers for this historic initiative.
He assured that the over 450 insurance applications would be registered within the next few days at various bank branches, including PNB, TGB, TSCB, Canara, UCO, and SBI, and that insurance certificates would be issued to the beneficiaries at the earliest.
This success is not merely a story of numbers; it is a living example of collective effort, confidence, and self-reliance.
It demonstrates that with the right guidance and commitment, rural men and women can achieve the impossible.

The TRLM workers of Laljuri have shown that they are no longer just beneficiaries but pioneers of nation-building and the backbone of rural development. Their success will remain an inspiring example for the entire state.
The relentless efforts of CSPs and members of Pragati and Unnati Cluster Level Federations made this event a success.
