Tripura Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) smelt a rat in the incidence of alleged attack on Fact-Finding Team of CPIM and Congress MPs, MLAs and leaders at Nehalchandra Nagar Bazar in Bishalgarh on Friday (March 10).
According to the party, there is a deep rooted conspiracy as the self-interested and divisive leaders of the Left Front and Congress tried to defame BJP and Tripura at the national level by staging a drama.
In a press statement, the Saffron Party said, “Following enquiry report it was found that the delegation of the Left-Congress leaders had made no contact with the local police to apprise them about their visit to Bishalgarh on Friday. Despite the lack of advance notice to the police, security guards were present at the scene. The delegation went there and tried to mislead the local people in the name of post-poll violence and political terror,” the statement mentioned.
It further stated, “There were some protests at Bishalgarh against the misleading activities of the Left-Congress delegation, but there were no such attack as alleged. The security personnel played an active role on Friday to escort the delegation away from the place.”
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha alarmed by the incident of the alleged attack on the visiting Fact-Finding Team directed the DGP to verify the fact of the incident and take action accordingly. In addition to that the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee also inquired about the details of the incident from the local police administration and general administration officials. There was a thorough enquiry into the alleged incident by the party functionaries, the press statement mentioned.
Based on the finding, BJP strongly condemns this attempt to spread false information and defame the people of the state and it believes that the people have a major role to play along with the police and general administration in preventing any kind of conspiracy against the state.”
