Mindset of entrepreneurs who had earlier lost interest in business owing to uncertainty in getting a fair price is fast changing as they are now re-starting ventures with renewed enthusiasm and trying to be Atma Nirbhar, said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday and added the positive shift in mindset is paving way for making Tripura a Swanirbhar State.
Biplab Kumar Deb flagged off today consignments of 40 MT canned pineapple to Hamburg in Germany from Kumarghat. The canned pineapples were processed at the Kumarghat Industrial Estate Complex.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, Pineapples of Tripura were exported to Dubai and Qatar in Middle East Asia on earlier occasions – now it is going to bigger markets in Europe. “Earnings from farm sector will increase if value-added cash crops are being cultivated along with the traditional crops. A new horizon of self-sufficiency is emerging through innovative production of pineapple and other agri-products”, he said and added, the mentality to attain self-reliance is paving way for a Swanirbhar Tripura
Deb also said the State Government is working on transporting commercial goods to the national and international markets using the waterways – this will reduce the transportation cost and the producers reap good profits.
“The Government is emphasizing the growth of the Agricultural and primary sectors to attain self-sufficiency. The entrepreneurs who lost interests in business due to uncertainty in getting fair prices are now re-starting ventures with renewed vigor and trying to be Atma Nirbhar”, he asserted.
Deb inspected different segments of the Industrial estate and interacted with the pineapple growers. During the interaction, he expressed happiness and wrote a post,” glad to know that with the help of Govt of #Tripura's scheme farmers are able to get the appropriate value of pineapples and they are happy to sell their products in the global market”.
The Chief Minister also visited the pineapple orchard of one Rami Darlong at Nalkata. Hailing her zeal, he said, “Due to emerging mindset for self-reliance, female entrepreneurs of the State, like the male entrepreneurs are scripting success and becoming self-sufficient. Rami Darlong cultivated pineapple in three-hector tila land and has become Atma Nirbhar”.
Pointing out that holistic development of the State is impossible without growth of the womenfolk of the State – the government has already initiated several steps to empower the women. He hailed the role of SHGs in empowering women. He also detailed facilities pertaining to loans, marketing etc available for SHGs in running the business.
Among others, secretary of Industries and Commerce PK Goyal, SC Welfare Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das, MLAs Sambhu Lal Chakma and Shudhangshu Das were present in the programme.
