CM visits slain Yuva Morcha leader's residence

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha went to the residence of Mihir Das, the Yuva Morcha Mandal president of Karamchhara area, who was killed on May 14 last. He condoled the death of the leader and handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh to Arpita Das, the wife of the slain leader on Tuesday during his Karamachhara area visit under Dhalai district.

 

Tripura-slain-Yuva-Morcha-leaderMiscreants launched an attack on Mihir Das (35) at School para area near Manu Police Station under Karamchhara Assembly constituency in Dhalai district on the night of May 14 last with sticks, rod and other weapons. In the attack, Mihir Das was killed while four others - Gopal Banik, Sujit Banik, Gopal Dev and Bimal Devbarma sustained injuries.

 

Meeting the deceased’s family members, Dr Manik Saha mourned and expressed grief following the untoward incident and said he is completely in a state of shock. He assured the family members that party would stand by their side.

 

MP Rebati Mohan Tripura, MLA Shambhulal Chakma, MDCs Sanjay Das and Hans Tripura and local BJP leaders accompanied Dr Saha to Mihir Das’s residence.

 

Later the Chief Minister went to the residences of other injured party workers and inquired about their wellbeing and treatment. He also handed over financial assistances to family members of the wounded youth activists.

Dr Saha directed the police administration to take immediate action against the culprits involved in the assault and murder of Mihir Das. He also assured every necessary help towards the four other injured youths and wished their speedy recovery.
