Expansion of quality healthcare services is Govt's motto : Tripura CM

The government of Tripura has prioritised improving the quality of healthcare and expanding it in the remote areas of the state, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said.

Expansion-quality-healthcare-services-Govt-motto-Tripura-CM Dr Saha was speaking at the inauguration of the new building and quarter complex of Chebari Primary Health Center under Khowai District of the State.

Notably, the construction of the 10-bedded Chebri Primary Health Center building has cost Rs 465 lakh 28 thousand.

Referring to the healthcare facilities in the State, the Chief Minister said that a total of 11 super specialty services would be launched in GBP Hospital to improve healthcare. Seven super specialty departments had been launched so far. 

Dr Saha said various steps have been taken to improve the healthcare infrastructure in Khowai district. The new building of Chebri Primary Health Center is a part of this step. 

He said that earlier people used to go abroad for better treatment. Currently, there is an opportunity to treat various complex diseases in the state. 

The number of patients referred from the state has also come down significantly. 

In the meantime, a dental college has been opened in the state. The infrastructure of IGM Hospital is being further expanded. Besides, the number of beds in GBP Hospital is being doubled. 

The Chief Minister said the benefits of various schemes and services of the central and state governments are being provided to the common people in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and Har Ghar Sushashan 2.0 campaign.

Today's event was attended by MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, Chief Whip of the State Assembly, Kalyani Saha Roy, Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad Jaydeb Debbarma, District Magistrate of Khowai Chandni Chandran, among others.
