Eye on rural health infra development: Tripura CM opens new buildings of two rural health centres
In an attempt to augment infrastructure of healthcare sector in rural areas, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated new buildings of Motinagar Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Boxanagar Community Health Centre (CHC) under Sepahijala district on Saturday (July 16).
The new building of the Motinagar PHC was constructed at an expense of Rs 3 crore 55 lakh while Rs 6 crore 44 lakh were spent for the construction of Boxanagar CHC.
Dr Manik Saha emphasized public involvement for proper healthcare delivery. He said, right kind of healthcare delivery is not possible only with doctors and health workers unless people spontaneously come out and actively participate in the process.
In this connection, Dr Saha reiterated the State Government is well aware of the shortages of specialist doctors in main hospitals and working to address the issue. There are two medical Colleges in the State and Tripura Government is trying to set up a Dental College. The government is also working for introducing specialist services in hospitals and revamp health infrastructure in the State.
Commenting assault on doctors, the Chief Minister said it important to keep faith on doctors as faith is crucial in treatment. If uneasy and chaotic situation is being created, doctors would face problems in delivering healthcare services - in that the doctors, instead of helping the patient would refer him to other hospitals to avoid taking responsibilities even if proper treatment could be done at the local health centre.
Dr Saha also urged the doctors and health workers to behave with people properly and stay confident. He also advised them to keep watch on medical instruments and maintain good rapport with people.
The Chief Minister also urged all to follow Covid protocols and get the booster jab of Covid Vax.
