Tripura, who had scored 266 in their first innings, bowled out Assam for 248, gaining a slender lead of 18 runs. In their second innings, Tripura struggled to put up a big total and were dismissed for 163, setting Assam a target of 182.

The lower-order batsmen showed some fight, with Amit Ali (34), Durlab Roy (32) and Riyaz Uddin (23) making useful contributions. For Assam, Bhargav Pratim Lahkar was the pick of the bowlers, taking five wickets for 44 runs.

Assam's chase never got going, as Sandip Sarkar ripped through their batting line-up with his accurate and incisive bowling. He took eight wickets giving away only 56 runs in 19.4 overs. He was well supported by his fellow pacers, who kept the pressure on the opposition.

Assam were bundled out for 132 in 31.4 overs, with only Nihar Deka (30), Abdul Aziz Kureshi (29) and Rituraj Biswas (22) offering some resistance. Jitu Ali, their main batsman, fell cheaply and the rest followed suit.

With this win, Tripura now have total 9 points from five matches. They will play their last match of the season against Maharashtra from 11-14 February.
