Shutdown work by GAIL, CNG supply in Tripura not to be available for 72 hr from Aug 8

Natural Gas Supply to Industries and CNG stations in the State shall remain suspended for 72 hours starting 6 am on August 8 next owing to shutdown work by the supplier GAIL (India) Ltd.  

 

enewstime-GAIL-CNG-Tripura-TNGCLIn a press statement, Managing Director of TRIPURA NATURAL GAS COMPANY LIMITED (TNGCL), A Anbarasan said Gail India Ltd has decided on a planned shutdown from 6 am on August 8 to 6 am on August 11 – total 72 hours – in its Anand Nagar to NEEPCO 12-inch x 15 Km pipeline to replace it with a new pipeline of approx. 300 meters for crossing the Howrah River. As a result, there will be no supply of Gas in the Khayerpur Offtake Point and IGC, NEEPCO Offtake point of TNGCL.

 

Due to the non-availability of adequate supply and pressure of the gas, CNG supply in Agartala, West Tripura, Khowai, Sepahijala and Gomati District shall not be available during the shutdown period.

 

“However, TNGCL shall put all efforts to maintain the PNG supply in Agartala City Network during the shutdown period”, the press statement read.   

 

TNGCL, established on July 10, 1990, is a joint venture between GAIL (India) Ltd, Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (A Govt. of Tripura Undertaking) and Assam Gas Company Ltd (A Govt. of Assam Undertaking).

 

TNGCL supplies eco-friendly and cost effective Natural Gas to Domestic (in Agartala), Commercial and Industrial Units in the State.   TNGCL is one of Eastern India's fastest growing Natural Gas Distribution Companies.

 

According to TNGCL website, “Besides being the most reliable supplier of Piped Natural Gas (PNG), TNGCL is also the first to set up CNG ( Compressed Natural Gas) stations in entire Eastern India fuelling an average of 10000 vehicles every day”.
