Terminated 10323 teachers upbeat after meeting Tripura CM

The much awaited meeting of terminated 10,323 ad hoc teachers and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took place in Agartala on Saturday. The meeting seemed to have fetched desired results as leaders of different organizations spearheading the movement of retrenched teachers hoped that a permanent solution to their plights might come henceforth.

In the meeting that lasted for hours in the Chief Minister office at the civil secretariat, leaders of different organizations tried to convey their messages to the Chief Minister regarding various challenges they were confronting right now.

On what transpired in the meeting, Bijay Krishna Paul of 10,323 ad-hoc pay teachers’s organization said, “We are hopeful of a positive announcement from the government within one or two months. The Chief Minister has heard all our proposals and problems”.

Paul, speaking on their proposals said, “First of all I want to thank Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for listening to us for such a long time. The prime reason that brings us here is to request the government to make a permanent solution of our problems”.

“We demand”, Paul said, “A permanent government job. The state government has already said that they are trying to explore ways to absorb us in different departments in phase wise with interviews that are open for all or through outsourcing. All our organizations oppose this. Outsourcing is not a permanent solution. We want a permanent government job. And, when it comes to phase wise recruitment, this process does not seem promising for us. We want that all victims must be recruited together”.

Another leader of his organization said, another important demand that we have tried to convey to the Chief Minister is granting a onetime remuneration for all of us as this is Puja season and avenues of other incomes are also shut due to the pandemic ravaged economy.

All the teacher leaders have collectively admitted that the Chief Minister had heard their problems positively and soon they expect a step that would resolve all their issues.

Altogether, 6 leaders of three separate organizations--10,323 ad-hoc pay teachers association, Amra 10,323 and justice for 10,323 ad-hoc pay teachers met the Chief Minister and apprised of the situation. Earlier, the teachers had met Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath few days ago.

Paul, later, said, “After meeting the education minister we have thought that a meeting with the Chief Minister will further simplify their task to convince the government and then they have requested the Chief Minister for the meeting”.
