The council of Ministers of Tripura formally gave its nod to the decision to increase the allowances for TSR personnel which was previously announced before Diwali.
Moreover, the cabinet decided to extend the same benefits to the State Police personnel.
The cabinet also green signalled the decisions to recruit total 253 personnel - 125 physical education teachers, 75 junior physical instructors and 53 fisheries officers.
Transport Minister of Tripura Sushanta Chowdhury said this in Agartala on Tuesday while announcing the cabinet decisions.
He said, "The government had announced the increase in the ration money and dress allowance for TSR personnel prior to the Diwali - this decision has now been approved in the cabinet meeting and extended to include the State Police ".
Chowdhury said, The annual dress allowance for state police has been increased from Rs 7,500 to Rs 9,500. Moreover, the monthly ration allowance for state police has been raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. Similarly, the cabinet approved increasing the annual dress allowance for TSR personnel from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 and their monthly ration allowance from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.
The minister pointed out that the state currently had a total of 21,794 personnel in TSR and police combined.
During the press conference, the minister also provided updates on recruitment decisions made in the cabinet meeting. He stated that 125 physical education teachers will be recruited under the School Education Department, and 75 junior physical instructors will be hired under the Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
Furthermore, 53 fisheries officers (Grade 1) will be appointed under the Fisheries Department as per the decisions made in today’s meeting.
All the recruitments will be done through competitive exams.
