Tripura CM launches CMJAY-2023 for universal health coverage

Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr Manik Saha Launched the 'Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana 2023' at Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan Ground in Agartala on Thursday. 

Many beneficiaries of the country are benefiting through Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in India. 

In Tripura, 5 lakh 12 thousand families out of 9 lakh 75 thousand families of the state have been included in the AB-PMJAY scheme out of which more than 2 lakh 94 thousand beneficiaries have received treatment under the Yojana so far. 

Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CMJAY-2023) scheme today to ensure health insurance services for the rest of the people of the state. 

The main objective of CMJAY-2023 is to provide free insurance coverage to everyone in the state.

Under this scheme the beneficiaries of Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana 2023 can avail inpatient medical services in all enlisted government and private hospitals in and outside the state. Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana-2023 scheme has no age limit. 

All pre-existing diseases will be covered under this scheme. Medicines will be provided free of cost till 15 days after discharge from hospital. 

All the beneficiaries of the state under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Building and Other Construction Worker (BoCW) Scheme, Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JAN MAN) Scheme or any other beneficiary who is not covered under any government insurance scheme will be covered under Chief Minister John Arogya Yojana (CM-JAY)-2023. 

State Government employees who will surrender existing Medical Allowance and Medical Reimbursement will be included in CMJAY-2023 scheme. 

In today's event Dr. Manik Saha handed over CMJAY-2023 Ayushman Card to 30 beneficiaries of the scheme. 

This scheme is a commendable step to provide health protection to everyone in Tripura. Finance Minister Pranaiit Singha Roy, Minister of Industries and Commerce, Santana Chakma, Minister of Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy, Tribal Welfare Department Bikash Debbarma,  Minister of SC Welfare and Other Departments,  Sudhanshu Das, Minister of Cooperation and Other Departments, Sukla Charan Noatia were present in the program.

Besides, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder,  Eminent Social Activist of the State, Rajib Bhattacharya, Chief Secretary of Tripura J,K Sinha, Additional CEO, National Health Authority, Govt. of India Dr. Basant Garg, Secretary State Health and Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte, Executive Secretary, Tripura Health Protection Society and MD, NHM D. K Chakma, etc. were present at the auspicious start of the day among others.
