Tripura CM lays foundation stone for Township projects aiming to provide affordable housing facility
The township projects initiated by the state government under Tripura Urban Development Authority (TUDA) will be completed by December 2022. The Township projects will provide affordable housing facilities to all and also generate employment opportunities to local workers. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has laid foundation stone for the Township Projects in Agartala on Thursday. The Chief Minister took part in the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony at Vivekananda Market and Kunjaban in Agartala.
The Chief Minister accompanied by councilor Ratna Dutta also performed Bhumi Pujan. The Township Project at Vivekananda Market will have total 48 flats and Rs. 23 crore will be invested. Similarly, 216 flats will be constructed in Kunjaban Township project with investment of Rs. 83 crore.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said both the projects would be completed by December, 2022. He said, “nobody could even imagine three years ago that such flats will be constructed in the city. The three tower buildings will have various modern facilities along with arrangements for gym, parking, sports facilities, lift, CCTV surveillance and community centre.”
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said his government is working in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Inspired by the ‘Vocal for Local’ call of the Prime Minister, the state government is working to transform Tripura into an Atma Nirbhar state, he said.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the water-logging problem has almost been solved at Banamalipur and some other parts of the city. He expressed hope that the scenario of city road infrastructure would have a new look within next six to seven months.
Meanwhile, Biplab Kumar Deb has urged everyone to maintain social distancing, wear masks and follow the government guidelines to overcome the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.
The Chief Minister has congratulated the team TUDA for their commitment. The TUDA has completed the bidding process, customer meets, bank loan tie-up and site preparations in the last 4 months amidst the COVID19 pandemic.
AMC Mayor Dr.Prafullajit Sinha, Special Secretary to Urban Development department- Kiran Gitte and CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav among other dignitaries were present in the foundation stone laying ceremony.
