Tripura CM outlines healthcare for all push at Obstetrics conference
In society, doctors come after God. Through providing medical services, doctors have the opportunity to go to people. This is the greatness of this profession, said Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on the occasion of the 37th annual conference of the Agartala Obstetrics and Gynecology Society at Chandramahal in Agartala on Saturday.
Inaugurating the conference, the Chief Minister said that obstetricians and gynecologists are working to provide health services. The current state government has also taken various steps to provide quality health services to the people. Dr Manik Saha said that the central government and the state government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have taken various initiatives to provide quality health services to the people.
Dr Saha said the people of Tripura could never have imagined that there would be a dental college in the state. Under the initiative of this government, a modern dental college has now been started in the state.
Another 100 primary health centers will be set up to provide quality health services to the peripheral areas of the state. For this, provision of funds has been made in the budget of the current financial year, Dr Saha said.
He said that doctors should always be sincere in providing medical services. The current government believes in action, not just words. The state government is working for the welfare of every person in the society.
Tripura is now moving forward in the direction of development at the same pace as the country. The Chief Minister wished the Agartala Obstetrics and Gynecology Society's annual conference a success.
At the inaugural ceremony of the conference, the welcome speech was delivered by the Chairman of the Agartala Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, Bhanu Bandyopadhyay Som. The speakers were the society's secretary Dr. Debashish Das and Dr. Dilip Das. The vote of thanks was delivered by the society's president Dr. Mangal Manik Debbarma.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the cover of a commemorative book published on the occasion of the 37th annual conference of the Agartala Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.
The society felicitated veteran doctor Ajit Kumar Ray. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha handed over a souvenir gift to Dr. Ajit Kumar Ray on behalf of the society.
