Tripura Government emphasizes merit-based recruitment and rural development

Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of Tripura, Ratan Lal Nath, affirmed the BJP-led government's dedication to recruiting qualified and competent individuals into various state government departments. This initiative, he emphasized, has significantly enhanced the delivery of government services to the state's citizens.

Nath made this statement while distributing job offer letters to 37 individuals for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (29) and the Election Commission (8). The selected candidates have until December 4 to accept their offers.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister reiterated the BJP-led government's unwavering commitment to transparent recruitment practices. He highlighted the government's emphasis on merit-based selection through examinations like JRBT, TET, and TPSC. This approach, he asserted, ensures that well-qualified and deserving candidates are entrusted with the responsibility of serving the state's populace.

Nath urged the new recruits to embrace their respective departments as their extended families and dedicate themselves to the welfare of the department and the community at large. He emphasized the government's unwavering focus on improving the lives of its citizens, particularly those residing in rural areas, farmers, and the underprivileged.

In line with this commitment, the government has actively pursued initiatives to create employment opportunities and empower the state's youth. Nath proudly shared that Tripura currently boasts over 51,000 women-led self-help groups, encompassing approximately 8 lakh women. These groups have played a pivotal role in fostering financial independence, with around 85,000 women achieving the status of 'Lakhpati Didi' – an annual income exceeding Rs 1 lakh.

Further demonstrating its dedication to improving the lives of its citizens, the state government has implemented various programs to bring essential services directly to the doorstep of rural communities. These initiatives include providing drinking water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission, constructing houses under the PMAY scheme, and ensuring access to sanitation facilities.

Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Apurba Roy, Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Election Department Usa Jen Mog, Director of Agriculture Department Saradindu Das, and Director of Horticulture and Land Conservation Department Dr Phanibhusan Jamatia were among the esteemed guests present at the event.
