Tripura Governor Distributes Certificates to 37 Women Graduates at Jirania Driving Institute

The Institute of Driving and Training Research in Jirania celebrated the graduation of its third batch of driving trainees on Wednesday, with a focus on empowering women through skill development. The state’s Governor, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury joined as a special guest. This batch comprised 37 women, who completed a 45-day driving course at the institute.

In his address, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu emphasized the importance of such initiatives in advancing women’s empowerment. He highlighted how the training not only equips women with essential driving skills but also opens up new avenues for employment and fosters self-reliance.

Tripura-Governor-Driving-skill-women“These trained women are not only taking steps for their personal growth but are also setting a powerful example for others,” he said, adding that this opportunity boosts their confidence and professionalism. He encouraged the newly trained drivers to prioritize safety and professionalism on the road.

Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury applauded the institute’s achievements, noting that since its establishment in 2023, it has successfully completed three training sessions. He highlighted the significance of this particular batch, as it was comprised solely of women, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of women’s empowerment and the state government’s mission to promote self-reliance among women.

The Secretary of the State Transport Department, SK Jamatia, opened the event with a warm welcome. Following the speeches, the Governor and other dignitaries distributed certificates and driving licenses to the graduates.

Additional Secretary of the Transport Department, Subrata Chowdhury, extended thanks to all attendees. Local leaders, including Pritam Debnath, Chairman of the Jirania Panchayat Samiti, social worker Gouranga Bhowmik, and Joint Secretary to the Governor, Ratan Bhowmik, were also present.

After the ceremony, the Governor toured the simulator room, observing the training tools that play a vital role in preparing drivers at the institute.
