RS to resume Discussion on demonetization

ProMASS, Nov 17, 2016: Discussion on demonetization issue will resume in the Rajya Sabha today. In response to notices given by a host of opposition members, the Upper House began the debate after suspending all business on the opening day of the Winter session yesterday.

During the course of a 7-hour debate, the opposition took on the government saying the move to demonitise high currency notes is ill-conceived and it had led to economic anarchy in the country.

Rejecting the allegation, the government said, the move is in the national interest which has been hailed by the common man. It said, the opposition should clear it’s stand on corruption.
