Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha refuted and countered CPIM’s allegations pertaining to prevailing law and order condition in the State.
In a whirlwind Dhalai district tour, the Chief Minister addressed two public meetings – at Chailengta and Manughat on Tuesday (Nov 1).
In both the meetings, he rubbished CPIM’s allegation on law and order condition in the state. Dr Saha referred to killing of BJP leader Nishikanta Chakma at Chailengta during Left regime in 2017 and said, the previous government ruthlessly suppressed people’s voice and there was no rule of law in Tripura during the Left Front era.
During the 35 years of Left regime, people experienced a reign of terror, he alleged..
In this connection, Dr Saha said, the country is striding forward under the abled leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tripura is also marching in the same direction.
He continued and urged the CPIM leaders not to say that there is a scarcity of food as adequate rice and other materials are available in ration shops across the State.
Dr Saha also announced extension of the on-going ‘Proti Ghore Sushasan’ campaign till December 25 - the Good Governance Day which is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Janajati Welfare minister Rampada Jamatia, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, party’s state general secretary Tinku Roy, other local leaders and elected representatives were present in today’s meeting.
The Chief Minister also attended several other programmes -- foundation stone laying of 50-bedded field hospital at Longtharai Valley and inauguration of 50-seated ST girls hostel at Bakcherra High school.
He also offered prayer at Budh Vihar adjacent to Chailengta Bazar today.
Earlier, he inaugurated a 1000 MT rice go-down at Betcherra in Unakoti in presence of Agriculture minister- Pranajit Singha Roy and SC Welfare minister- Bhagaban Chandra Das, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy and others.
Dr Saha also laid foundation stone of 50 bed Field Hospital at Manughat Community Health Centre today.
