Srabani Debnath from Tripura has been selected as the fielding coach for the Indian 'A' women's cricket team in the Senior Challenger Trophy. The Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy will be held in Ranchi from November 17-27.
Srabani Debnath has been chosen as the fielding coach for the Indian 'A' team in this tournament. The matches will be played at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium. Tripura's Under-19 team coach, Shrabani Debnath, left for Ranchi on Thursday to take charge of the team in this tournament.
A total of five teams will be playing in this tournament. Earlier this year, Shrabani, was the head coach of the Indian 'C' team in the Under-19 Challenger Trophy.
In that tournament, Shrabani's team was the runner-up. Shrabani said all teams in this tournament are equally strong. As a result, the competition will be fierce. Since it's a T20 tournament, it's difficult to say anything in advance. However, we will try our best to achieve the highest honors.
Shrabani has been involved in coaching for nearly a decade. Harlin Deol has been selected as the captain of her team. The team includes players like Richa Ghosh, Ananya Pradeep, Priya Punia, Trishna Pujitha, Rabia Syed, Mita Pal, Hanni Patel, and Fatima Jaffer. Sunetra Paranjpe has been selected as the head coach of the team, Rituparna Roy as the bowling coach, and Shrabani Debnath as the fielding coach.
Being selected as the fielding coach of a senior team for the first time, Shrabani is naturally under some pressure. However, before leaving for Ranchi, Shrabani said firmly, ‘I will do my best’.
