Tripura Tourism Promo Fest: Cultural Fiesta to Begin on Dec 3, Shreya Ghosal to perform on Dec 14
The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024 is set to commence on December 3 at Narikelkunj in Dumbur, and promises a vibrant showcase of the state’s rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty.
Culminating in a star-studded cultural extravaganza on December 14 featuring renowned Indian singer Shreya Ghosal, the festival will highlight Tripura as a key destination for domestic and international tourism.
“As part of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest, a cultural program will be held at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, Agartala on 14 December, in which renowned Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal and other eminent artists will participate”, State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said.
Addressing a press conference at Geetaanjali Tourism Guest House in Agartala on Saturday, the Tourism Minister outlined the festival’s schedule. The inaugural event, slated for 11 am on December 3, will be presided over by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who will also inaugurate a newly constructed bridge and homestays at Dumbur Lake.
The Tourism Minister pointed out that the main objective of organizing this festival is to showcase the rich and traditional culture, heritage, and natural beauty of the 19 tribal groups of Tripura to the tourists of the state and outside.
The Fest will aim to promote economic development through tourism and to highlight the diverse unity of the state to the tourists. He informed the media that on the occasion of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024 festival, 70-80 representatives of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India will be coming to Agartala on December 12.
Chowdhury said that the festival will be organized jointly by the Tripura Tourism Department and the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited.
Director of the Tourism Department, Prashant Badal Negi, presented a detailed outline of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest through a PowerPoint presentation. He informed the media that apart from the inaugural ceremony at Narikelkunj, Dumbur on December 3, there will be a musical concert, a display of traditional costumes of 19 tribal groups, boat race, adventure sports, and a variety food festival.
On the evening of December 9 at Rajghat in Neermahal, renowned singer Niharika Nath and other eminent artists will perform. There will be a musical concert and a display of local food.
On December 11, a musical concert, band performance by Mizo and local artists, dance, adventure sports, and a variety food festival will be organized at Eden Tourist Lodge in Jampui Hill.
On December 12, representatives of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India will arrive in Agartala. They will visit the Light and Sound Show at Ujjayanta Palace. On December 13, they will visit Dumbur Lake and Tripura Sundari Temple.
On December 14, representatives of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India will participate in a discussion and business-to-business meeting with local tour operators and hotel owners at Hotel Polo Tower. On the same day, renowned Indian singers Shreya Ghoshal, Sourabhi Debbarma, and local artists will perform in the evening at a cultural program at Swami Vivekananda Stadium.
