Tripura: Bloodmouth win against Friends in Chandra Memorial League Football

Bloodmouth clinched a victory against Friends Union in the Shyam Sundar Co Jewelers Chandra Memorial League football tournament held at Umakanta Mini Stadium on Monday. Bloodmouth Club defeated Friends 2-1.

Both teams displayed a lack of rhythm from the start. Except for a few sporadic attacks in the first half, the ball mostly remained in the midfield.

Friends had more attacking opportunities compared to the winning team in the first half, though they failed to score. The first half ended goalless.

Bloodmouth tried to take control of the match at the beginning of the second half.

In the 5th minute of this half, Friends' goalkeeper Ashamohan Jamatia made a brilliant save to deny Jabeed Darlong's shot from outside the box.

Bloodmouth had to wait until the 27th minute of the second half for their first goal. Friends' goalkeeper failed to catch a high shot taken by Bloodmouth's defender Lalchenben in the Friends' half, leading to Bloodmouth taking a 1-0 lead.

The winning team scored their second goal 7 minutes later. Naresh Meitei received the ball in the Friends' box and found the back of the net, extending Bloodmouth's lead to 2-0.

A minute later, Bishal Jamatia reduced the deficit to 1-2 for Friends with a fantastic free-kick. Bishal took the free-kick from almost 10 yards outside the box.

Subsequently, Salkaham missed a simple chance to equalize.

With this win, Bloodmouth has 9 points from 4 matches. On the other hand, Friends Union is yet to open their account after 4 matches. Referee Tinku Dey conducted the match. Bishal Jamatia of Friends Union was adjudged the best player of the match.
