Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said the work of building modern infrastructure in the state started under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state government has allocated nearly Rs 7,000 crore in the state budget for infrastructure development.
He made these remarks on Sunday after laying the foundation stones for seven projects and virtually inaugurating the newly constructed two-story building of Gamaria Higher Secondary School at the premises of Ramesh English Medium Higher Secondary School in Udaipur.
He further mentioned that work is underway to develop modern infrastructure in various sectors such as communication, education, health, and sports in the state. The government’s goal is to create a "One Tripura, Best Tripura."
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Udaipur Municipal Council building, shopping complex, and auditorium, costing Rs 44 crore. Moreover, he laid the foundation stone for the science building of Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya, costing Rs 40 crore, Ramesh School's Bichitra Hall and new building, costing Rs 8.51 crore, synthetic turf installation on the playground of Ramesh School, costing Rs 5.79 crore, Raja Bag Motor Stand costing Rs 10 crore, a 200-bed Youth Hostel costing Rs 16.24 crore, and the District Magistrate Office building project worth Rs 24.20 crore.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Ray mentioned that the projects inaugurated on Sunday would fulfill the long-standing aspirations of the people of Udaipur. The work initiated under the Chief Minister's leadership to take the state forward will continue in the future. Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Tinku Roy, said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India is developing modern sports infrastructure. The state government has also taken steps to build modern sports infrastructure in the districts.
The inauguration event was attended by MLA Abhishek Debray, MLA Jitendra Majumder, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Sheetalchandra Majumder, Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Secretary of Transport Department C.K. Jamatiya, Special Secretary of School Education Department Raval Hemendra Kumar, and Gomati District Police Superintendent Namit Pathak, among others.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chairman of Gomati Zilla Parishad, Debol Debray, and the welcome speech by the District Magistrate of Gomati, Taritkanti Chakma.
