Tripura CM flags off 'Highway Patrol' along Agartala-Sabroom NH to curb accidents, crimes

Highway-patrol-Tripura-Police-CMChief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated ‘Highway Patrol’ vehicle for patrolling on Agartala-Sabroom National Highway on Monday from the Chief Minister’s official residence in Agartala. State Director General of Police Amitabha Ranjan and other high-ranking officials of the administration were present in the inauguration programme.

The 'Highway Patrol' initiative aims at making the travel along Agartala-Sabroom National Highway safer for the drivers as well as passengers - and will greatly contribute in curbing smuggling of narcotics and other contraband items.

Initially, four patrol vehicles will conduct 24-hour surveillance on the Agartala-Sabroom road. If any crime is committed on the Agartala-Sabroom highway, it can be quickly identified and appropriate action taken by the Highway Patrol, the Chief Minister said after flagging off the ‘Highway Patrol’ vehicles.
