Tripura Government is ensuring treatment of heart, kidney and neurological diseases in the State as well as accorded stress in bringing the pregnant women and babies under the ambit of Immunization, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after launching the Intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0 in Agartala on Tuesday.
The intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0 aims to protect children and pregnant women from life-threatening and several other diseases.
Chief Minister said the government is implementing the largest inoculation drive globally where annually over 3 crore pregnant women and 2.6 crore children are covered through the Universal Immunization Programme.

In his speech, Deb said that the intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0 will ensure that the routine immunization services reach the unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children and pregnant women.
Highlighting the improvement in health care system, Deb said, “In the past, GB Hospital did not have adequate infrastructure. However, due to successful implementation of plans to build a suitable advanced infrastructure, the GB Hospital is witnessing successes one after another. Successful open heart surgery performed at a newly launched cardio department of the hospital is one such example”.
Deb continued and said, Government is working to ensure that the people of the state no longer need to go to other state for the treatment of several diseases like kidney disease and other complicated diseases.
Deb also mentioned, “Doctors and health staffs treated me and my family when we were Covid affected”.
“Everyone from the ASHA workers to the Principal Secretary of the Health Department are working with efficiency in achieving targets. ‘Mukhyamantri Sushtha Shaisab, Sushtha Koishor’ played a crucial role during the Covid pandemic to augment immunity among the 0-19 years old kids and teens”, he said.
Among others, deputy Mayor of AMC Manika Das Datta, Principal Secretary of Health Department JK Sinha and other dignitaries spoke on the occasion.
