Tripura CM virtually reviews Health dept activities, emphasizes service decentralization

Tripura-CM-Covid-Health-DepartmentA virtual meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha regarding the overall health services of the state. In this virtual meeting, among other issues, decentralization of the Healthcare delivery system was emphasized. Also, the achievements, progress of work, future work plans and various new initiatives of the four directorates of the Health department were discussed in detail. The Secretary of the Health department spoke elaborately about the ongoing works of the department in the meeting.

 

In a Facebook post, Dr Saha wrote, “Today I participated in a virtual meeting to review the progress of the ongoing activities of the Health Department, programs, future work plans and various healthcare service related issues. One of our resolutions is to ensure citizen health protection through decentralization of health infrastructure and improved services throughout the state”.

 

He continued and wrote, “Officials of concerned authorities have been directed to expeditiously identify bottlenecks and eliminate them by speedy implementation of central and state government schemes related to health services. In addition to chalking out various plans, the department has also been directed to regularly monitor the recent Covid situation and take timely action”.

 

enewstime-Tripura-CM-health-dept-reviewIn the virtual meeting, the Chief Minister advised the officials of the department to prioritize the health services sector and implement the central and state government projects and complete the deficient areas within the stipulated time frame.

 

He directed the officials to keep a regular watch on the situation of present Covid-19 situation in the state and take action accordingly. He also emphasized raising awareness among the people in this regard.

 

In the meeting, the Chief Minister suggested taking necessary steps to increase the services of specialist doctors in various district hospitals and sub-divisional hospitals of the state.

 

He emphasized the importance of keeping in view the improvement of services to the patients along with infrastructure development in various levels of health services. Also, new recruitment in the health department, use of modern equipment, covid vaccination etc. were discussed in the meeting.
