Tripura: Dr Manik Saha commits to empowering marginalized sections in line with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's legacy

The incumbent government of Tripura is consistently working towards the overall development of the marginalized section of society in line with the principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said in Agartala on Wednesday.
 
Today, Dr. Saha attended the 68th death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Tripura State Museum in the Ujjayanta Palace premises.
 
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized that Bharat Ratna awardee and Constitution maker Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar dedicated his life to working for the welfare of Dalits, the neglected, and the backward people of the country.

"He was a prolific writer, astute politician, philosopher, and multi-talented individual. The work he has done for the welfare of the backward classes and Dalit people of the country remains relevant even today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also advancing along the lines of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's thoughts, views, and path,” he said.
 
He further highlighted that the Prime Minister has initiated various projects to improve the socio-economic status of the backward classes and the most marginalized sections of society.
 
“The Scheduled Caste Welfare Department has also undertaken multifaceted programs for the overall development of Scheduled Caste communities in the state. Dr. Ambedkar's approach to overcoming various obstacles in life is exemplary. The present generation must follow suit. We must take an oath today to implement the path he has shown us for the future,” said Dr. Saha.
 
On the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Saha also unveiled his statue at the entrance of the Tripura Legislative Assembly today.
 
SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, West Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati In-charge Haridulal Acharya, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, and others were present.
