Yoga to strengthen 'One Earth, One Family and One Future', says Tripura CM

Yoga will play an important role in realizing the vision of ‘One Earth, One Family and One Future’. There is no alternative to Yoga practice for maintaining the mind, soul and body in overall good health, commented Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at Dibrugarh on Friday (April 7).

 

Dr Saha took part in the ‘Yoga Mahotsav’ which was held to commemorate 75 days to the International Day of Yoga at Dibrugarh University in Assam today morning.

 

Tripura-CM-Yoga-Mahotsav-2023Union Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas & MP of Dibrugarh; Rameshwar Teli; Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh; Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Main; Health & Family Welfare Minister of Assam, Keshab Mahanta were also present in the Yoga Mahotsav.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Tripura Chief Minister said, “It is a great moment when all of us have joined today in this beautiful morning to perform Yoga - one of the greatest boons of Indian heritage. As we practice Yoga today, it not only boosts the Yoga practice among people but also promises a better, healthier tomorrow”.

He also said, Yoga is not just an exercise but an ancient method to stay physically and mentally fit. Saints and sages have been practicing Yoga since the ancient period as Yoga helps develop the body, mind and soul. One may be able to know about self by practicing Yoga.

 

Dr Saha added, “In the last decade under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s century-old yoga practice has been integrated into a new dimension at the global stage”.

 

Every year June 21 is observed as the International Yoga Day under the able guidance of the Prime Minister, Tripura Chief Minister said and thanked Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for carrying forward the Prime Minister’s vision through Yoga across the country.

 

Union Minister Sonowal announced at the Yoga Mahotsav that the Ministry of Ayush will set up a 100 bedded Yoga & Naturopathy hospital at Dibrugarh.

 

He said, "On this holy occasion of Yoga Mahotsav, which is being celebrated on this auspicious World Health Day, I have the pleasure to announce that the Ministry of Ayush is going to set up a 100 bedded Yoga & Naturopathy hospital at Dibrugarh. This is going to further bolster Dibrugarh as the center of healthcare in the region. I am thankful to the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma ji, for extending full support to this only-of-its-kind center in the Northeast. This center will cater to the needs of the region by providing Yoga and naturopathy out-patient and inpatient treatments to the people of Assam".
